Thank you for sharing your ideas!
From March through September, we gathered your ideas to update our Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan and raffled off prizes as we reached participation goals. See the prize winners!
More than 2,400 community members shared over 4,150 ideas to shape Hillsboro’s future.
Your favorite ideas could be brought to life by local organizations as action items in the updated Plan.
In January, you can help us select which ideas are most important in each of the Plan's focus areas:
- Economy & Infrastructure
- Education & Community Involvement
- Environmental Stewardship
- Health, Wellness, and Safety
- Livability & Recreation

Popular Ideas:
- New pools, water park, lazy rivers, and water slides!
- Affordable housing for all (need-based & not)
- More music venues & cultural events
- Safer walking & bike paths
Creative Ideas:
- Hillsboro Trolley to transport people to markets, events, and popular locations
- Car-Free Zones for pedestrians & golf carts
- Old school roller skating rink
- Squirrel bridges to help small animals cross busy streets
- "U-Pick" fruit trees for quick snacks
Please Note: The ideas above may or may not be included in the updated 2035 Plan. Inclusion is dependent on the outcome of the community prioritization survey and if there is a community partner willing to help with implementation.
